When i log in, i see that they are charging me $0.01 per month, do they mean free?

I ment to say that i see that they are charging me $0.01 for membership fee.

No, they don't mean free, after a while it will run out. However you can use it for a whle and if you go with another provider you can request to take your e-mail address with you.

you can use AOL free. But you don't get the premium package. Just go to AOL.com . I have the free mail service, and AIM (messenger) But I don't use the down loadable AOL pay for it service.. ( tried it once ) They download so many hidden programs it takes up space, and takes away from my CPU. But I have never seen where they charge me for using AOL free, and I don't get a bill.
