Rank these countries on the prude-o-meter...?

Question

On a scale of 1-10, 10 being very prudish and 1 being very open about sexuality. By prudish, I mean, reserved about homosexuality, pre-marital sex, nudity, and sexuality generally (and, by the way, it isn't always such a terrible thing, either).

1.) England
2.) United States
3.) Israel
4.) Mexico
5.) Canada
6.) France

(My rankings: England 8, Untited States 9, Israel 7, Mexico 7, Canada 7, France 5)

i dont know about the others but the USA is prudish. we're a great place, just too politically correct.

The U.S. is -far- more prudish than England on sexual matters. Just watching the telly after 10 pm will show you that. And the whole Defense of Marriage load? That's just too silly and self-righteous to happen in the UK.

Of all the countries that I've been in, France has the healthiest attitude towards sexual matters.

If I have to give numbers, it would be something like
U.S. 9, England 7, Scotland 6, Israel 4, France 2. (I don't know enough about Mexico and haven't seen Canadian tv in years.)

Of course, what I mean by those numbers is probably way different from what you do.

No way Mexico ranks lower on the prudish scale than the US. You've obviously never lived there, as they are very conservative once you get away from tourist areas. Most Mexicans aren't used to even wearing shorts on a regular basis. And if you are out of the closet there, you have a BIG chance of being beaten (a judge in the US recently gave asylum to a gay Mexican man because there was a significant fear of death in returning).
