Anyone been Cuba? I am going Guardalavaca at the end of the month and just wondered if anyone has been there? What the weather is like? and if there any good things to do?

Cuba is an amazing place, the Cubans are beautiful people who will go out of their way to make your holiday even better for you, the beaches and ocean are out of this world, long white sandy beaches and bathtub warm ocean, the fish swim around your feet, take bread and banana with you into the sea to feed the fish and watch in amazement as they come swarming round you to feed off the bread and banana, the weather will be perfect at the end of this month, hot and beautiful, take plenty of suncream with you as it is expensive to buy in Cuba and that's if you can get it, take everything you can toiletry wise as things are hard to buy in Cuba, there is so much to do, snorkeling, going on Catamarans, volleyball, horse riding, paragliding, sailing, windsurfing, pedalos, relaxing on the beach and getting a tan, I think you will just love your holiday and will be saving to go back again, have a wonderful time and enjoy yourself.

Cuba is a wonderful place to go! But like others have said, take toiletries as they are expensive... and leave them behind when you go! Your maid will appreciate it greatly as an extra tip.
And if you plan on reading on the beach or at night, make sure to take enough reading material for the trip and return flight, as there is virtually none to buy in Cuba.. I have no idea what they read for fun.. never found anything in 8 trips!

I work with a guy that is from Cuba. He was just telling me all about it last week. It sounds beautiful, just like Puerto Rico. He told me it's like going back in time since they don't have a lot of the things like new cars,new refrigerators, new phones... Everything is old school. He also said there are like 3 channels as far as TV goes too.

Cuba is amazing, the people there are so amazing. Snorkeling was unreal as well. Definetely recommend for anyone to go to Cuba

I have been to Cuba twice... it is one of the most beautiful places... with amazing people there... great culture... and cheap. Guardalavaca is really nice but it's more secluded than other places like varadero where the club scene is and stuff. There are a few "discotecas" (clubs) in guardalavaca... people at your resort will let you know where they are... there are TONS of activities to do... a catameran day trip including food drinks etc. is only 30 cuban convertable pesos (i think thats like 25 US??) but its really cheap... snorkeling... windsurfing.. jetskis etc. I believe there was some sort of market there that has cheap souveniers etc. Weather is awesome march-apriil-may... (i went during march) not too hot and humid= perfect. ENJOY YOUR TRIP!

I'm going back in May for 2nd time i am sure you will have a great time, look at all the answers you have had not one bad report, what does that tell you.
