Hey all, this is my first try at a website made completely of Flash.

Once it's finished, it's going to be my personal website advertising my first novel.

It's still in it's early form of development.(only the first page works) But give me honest opinions about the design and everything.

Here it is:

"Future Rockstar" :

I put YHWH there intentionally. Want to know what it is? You'll just have to read the book once it's published.

Mellisa:

Rofl. That's because it's not specifically a "Romance" novel.

As a Web designer, here's what I have to say about your Website:

1.) The "Loading..." animation is too fast. This may cause a feeling of tension or may even cause seizures among people with disabilities. Accessibility is one factor that Web designers should consider.

2.) The color contrast of the main content is not obvious. Black text against a dark gray background doesn't make the main content stand out, thus turning the visitor's attention to the other parts of the page. Make your main content stand out if that's what you want your visitors to focus on. Pick a lighter color for your background.

3.) Your typography is already good. You just need to make use of proximity to make your content interesting to read. Create more space to separate one paragraph from the next. Use block quotes to highlight salient points and to let readers rest for a while.

4.) You alignment isn't bad too. Just make sure your alignment is consistent throughout your paragraphs. Use Justified alignment with caution as this might destroy proximity.

5.) You might want to reconsider the borders you created and the boundary of the page. Your borders are already solid, so no need to create a lighter gray imaginary border that's beyond the solid borders.

Overall, you did a good job considering that this is your first time creating a full flash site. Kudos!

The design is too bland for me:

All grey is a bit too cold and unexciting. Colour and animation please.

Layout is very good and easy to use however.

One point is that I love to listen to Itunes while working online an I do not want to hear that annoying "thup" sound on all of the tabs.

The text is also quick small and conpacted / limited to one small area.

As for the flash animation, it's smooth and quick, so good.

4/10

A great start but needs much more development and work.

However I can see clear potential.

I like it. I like how the colors go together and the overall layout. The sounds for the tabs are a bit much. It seems like the organization will be pretty easy to follow once it is finished (which is always a good thing for people who visit your site). Nice website!

i'm not inspired in any respect. The console itself looks greater then the unique Xbox 360. rather much like they went back to the huge @$$ brick that replaced into the unique Xbox. The controller reminds me of the unique Xbox controller as nicely. All this crap approximately being waiting to observe television with the Xbox One is crap i don't choose. game enthusiasts do not choose an entertainment container. they choose a activity console. Microsoft failed their fan base. After having 4 Xbox 360s bite the dirt because of hardware subjects. i'm going to declare it i'm a Sony fanboy now. i've got by no potential had a situation with any of my PS3s even although i've got continuously switched between Sony and M$. So i'm going to be getting the PS4.

I like it, but it doesn't scream "Romance novel" at me, if you know what i'm saying. Maybe try looking at other writers websites to get an idea? Or try contacting a paid website designer, they may be able to give you some ideas. Good luck on the novel!

It's good, but i do agree with some of the others. It needs a little something else. Maybe some more color or a different font, or both. I like the animation. I think that's a good start.

keep in mind that Google and other crawlers can't use flash sites, make sure they've got some way to navigate the site.... or else you'll never show up in search queries!!

if you want to see what you page will look like to google, see the 'lynx' browser.

You want honesty???
Ok, it's pretty good, but...
That sound when mouse goes over button is too loud and irritating...
Thy changeing it to some more natural sound...
And, if it's in flash, use it!
Bring some life to it!
Try making some side animation, changin colours, making some pretty graphics... ;)

Cool! I think your story is going to be pretty interesting. I can't wait to see the rest of the site. What the "YHW" thing a typo or did you do that on purpose?
