I am trying to rid a large area (At least and acre and a half) of fleas, ticks, ants, termites, and roaches. I have an ATV with a sprayer on the back. I don't have a large budget for this and I also have pets and a 4 year old son. Any Ideas on maybe a home remedy?

Sorry to say pal, but its goanna cost you $$$ to get rid of bugs around your house.

For starters, youre goanna have to keep your pets locked up and yer kids away from the area for about a week. And if you can afford it, you'll have to get a commercial version of Ortho Bug B Gone Max spray and granules. This stuff kills and works for all bugs and keeps them away for several weeks. If you apply it enough, it'll keep them away forever.

Now another way to go is to introduce beneficial insects to your area. These are insects that are not bad that eat the bad insects. But without knowing where you are, what kinds of bugs you want to erradicate, its hard to say.

Boric Acid is pretty safe but you still don't want your pets walking in it. Sprinkle it around the perimeter of your house. it dries out the bugs.

Granuals from the home stores are usually made to kill a large number of bugs, but usually not termites. That poison is more expensive.

Treat your animals with a pill to prevent fleas and ticks. It is cheaper and safer than poisioning your yard.
