Sims intalling problems?

i have sims unleashed and i want to install sims house party. but it won't let me. it says that it couldn't find a match for a search specifiyed by this installer. i don't wan to lose my people i have on my game but how do i make it work. ps i have a mac and the cd is for a mac

I remember, when I had the original Sims games they said that you had to install the expansion packs in chronological order. House Party came out before Unleashed so you would have to uninstall Unleashed and then install House Party then install Unleashed again.
I'm very sure that's what they used to say in the instruction booklet.
I played on PC by the way.
