Corned Beef & Cabbage w/ boiled new potatoes are Tradition. This is a bit much, so you can still serve finger food, that might be similar:
Corned Beef on small round rye w/ mustard or horseradish
Cole Slaw (it's cabbage)
Chips (potatoe's)
Drink : Beer, Bailey's Creme,
Non-Alchoholic: Ginger Ale, Sprite, and don't forget Diet pop!
Music: U2, River Dance, The Cranberry's, Classical Harp & BagPipe Music/Celtic. Galiec Music
Games: Trivia (some about St. Patrick Day). Have every one jot down an Irish Theme poem, and have them fold it in and put it in a Pot, then pass it around. Then let people pick one out and read it.

Suggestions for music: anything by the Chieftains - the Chieftains play traditional Irish music. If you want the "American" version of what Irish music is, try Dennis Day (McNamara's Band, Danny Boy, etc).
Food- anything. If you are planning on serving alcohol, maybe some finger food or snack food (like a relish tray).
Alcohol- Green beer is a big thing on St. Pat's Day.
There is a non-alcoholic beer "O'Doul's" that may o.k. (I am not a beer drinker).
For those who don't drink alcohol- try a green punch- maybe with some 7 Up, Limeade, or something like that. When I grew up, my mom put sherbet in the punch- so a green/lime sherbet may be fun.
For games- you can look up Irish Trivia on the computer and ask your guests the questions. Prizes could be simple - like an Irish pin or green socks (something silly). You can forgo the prizes and just play for fun.

It's the one time of the year you can have green beer. Have that, with some Irish music. Traditional Irish food is corn beef hash and I think sour kraut, I'm not sure if you want to serve that, though.

The funny thing about food is, I often see people serve food that's not really Irish, but is Irish-American. I say, google up some authentic Irish recipes and try them out.

I've got a lot of drinks recommended in an article I wrote (http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/145718/top_10_saint_patricks_day_drinks.html). Green Machine Punch is the best - vodka, limeade and sherbet.
