I am seeing a lot of maternity fashions lately that involve very pregnant women going braless wearing tube tops. I absolutely love the look and will be pretty pregnant for the summer. I have never really been a daring person to go braless, but I would love to still looks sexy for my hubbie. How do you know if you can pull off this fashion braless and still look good??? I did have a slim waist and a larger chest (38D), could I pull it off or should I invest in a strapless bra??? Any suggestions???

Wow folks, I am talking about the tube tops on the maternity websites for this summer fashions 2007. The ones that cover the entire belly, they look like long tank tops with out straps! I've never worn anything showing my stomach and I definitely don't intend to start now.

I have to agree that the tube top look is very cute, and I too want to still look sexy for my hubby. I however, don't think any pregnant woman should go braless. Not because it doesn't look right or anything, if you have great boobs, then you will look great. But mostly because I think your breast need support right now and having them hanging around is not very supportive! Especially for a person with a larger chest. I am only a 34B (for the time being, lets see once I hit 6 months), and I will be investing in a strapless bra as soon as I find a comfortable one.
Needless to say, you wear what ever you feel comfortable in, who cares what anyone else thinks or says! If you think strapless might not be supportive, Victorias Secret has these really cute bra straps that are meant to be worn with tubes or spaghetti strap shirts to show off the straps, I might try those just to add a nice touch, and to push up my hooters as well! (I wasn't blessed with a D cup)
Congrats by the way!!

P.S.
Whats with everyone thinking tube tops show your bellys? Go to motherhood.com people, you will see what we are talking about! It is just a "strapless" top, but your belly is completely covered, in fact, most maternity tubes are nice and long to allow room for your growing belly. (No offense to anyone)

You can pull off a tube top braless IF:
-your nipples dont show through the shirt
-you are in a setting where it is appropriate to be scantily clad (beach, your own house)
-you are not alarmingly overweight.

these are just some guidelines to save a lot of people from cringing and you the embarassment of looking like a skanky pregnant chick.

also being a pregnant woman is sexy in itself. personally, i think being tastefully dressed in a flattering way without having rolls, nipples, stretchmarks, etc., hanging out everywhere, is far more attractive than just baring as much skin as possible.

* an important note: to prevent your breasts from becoming saggy in the future (especially a girl of your size) you should ALWAYS wear a very supportive maternity bra while pregnant and nursing. You may FEEL supported with a normal bra, but trust me, its not the same. The thick bands and straps may not be as sexy, but neither are saggy boobs! You will thank that granny bra when your child is older and your boobs are still relatively in the same spot they used to be!

Buy a strapless bra. Try wearing the tube tops with the flowy bottoms. Pink is a great color for Summer.

go try on the tops first off and see how your mommas hold up, but come prepared and then try them with a strapless on afterwards. I love the look of pregnant women at the beach they look so cute, I wish I was pregnant for the summer. Oh well, maybe next time. as for your tops, I totally suggest at least buying 2. Lol, even if you don't feel comfy in them outside, summer is still hot and you can still wear them in your backyard. Good luck with your pregnancy

I personally only think C cup and smaller can go bra-less and C cup is pushing it. It will hurt your back to go bra-less as a D cup and you could be a DD by then. I would say try the look but go for a strapless bra.

Your boobs may be way to sore to go braless. I would get a bra with clear straps, a strapless bra, or a swim suit bikini top to go with it. I love that look too. Just hope the "ladies" (boobs) can withstand it.

I have LOVED my own pregnant belly all 4 times I was pregnant, but that doesnt mean that other ppl wanted to see it. Tube top and braless is for in the house wear, Not for public viewing.
