Soccer Addiction?....Well...He lives for the soccer the same way a NBA, NFL, MLB player lives for his/her sport. It is not an addiction, it is a talent/job/hobbie...

Soccer is not a harmful addiction like alcoholism or drug to be overcome. It is a game like basketball. It is like asking, how did Michael Jordan overcome his addiction to basketball! Granted, he loved playing football but he had to retire to give room to younger players. He retired from active football in 1970s (if that is overcoming addiction). His admirers are the ones probably addicted to his legendary successes. Some go as far as presenting their young kids to him to touch and bless with soccer prowess! They have not overcome their fanatic addiction yet.
