How can i force my kid to go to school. He is in year 10 this year and is 15. He always makes up these excuses that he had a bad night or has diarrhoea. i know there is no problem at school. He is just lazy. He has about a day a week off.

As his parent, you are still in control of what he can do. You can take away his privileges, such as going out or driving. Warn him about the consequences of his behavior. When he skips again, and he will, follow through with your set punishment and he will change if the consequences are strong enough. Also, try to talk to him about what may be keeping him from going to school. Be understanding and try to work a compormise out. Remember- you are in control.

if you still pay him pocketmoney - dock him for every day he has off school. if not, here are some other suggestions:
- if he stays home sick, he has to go the doctor and get a doctors certificate - and that if he is not really sick, he has to pay for the doctor visit himself
- that if he stays home, he has to stay in bed all day. no tv, no reading, no games, no computer. he is allowed however, to do his homework
- if he stays home, but is not really sick, he gets double the amount of chores

a bad night is not really a good excuse to not go to school. when he gets out into the workforce, not many bosses are going to let that slide. i know it is hard, but he really needs to be taught this lesson. good luck with that.
