not my favourite, but it would be in my top 10. my favourite film is Silence of the Lambs, but i also love The Crow, The Usual Suspects, Pulp Fiction. a lot of stephen king's other films are good too..... The Stand is really good, although it's over 5 hours long ( ! ), and i also like The Green Mile, Misery and The Shining.

It's a brilliant film but my fav is The Italian Job ( the original with Micheal Cane )

Yes.
And, it is interesting so many people list it as their favorite, because its history is one of the worst at the box office. It only received the acclaim/audience it deserved after it was released on video and more people had the opportunity to see it.

It has to be joint fav with Green Mile, both fantastic films,
I have watched them both over and over.

I love it but it really, really, really should have ended sooner than it did. When he got out of the tunnel and breathed fresh air, when the box was found... So many opportunities to end the film - it really didn't need to end on the beach.

guy i live with is broke and only has two dvds - shawshank and last samurai, we have no cable.
even shawhanks novelty wears off after the 173rd time.

Absolutely ... just watched it as part of our Life Studies (same as PSHE or RS) course a few lessons ago and it is phenomenal. I absolutely loved it!!!!!
NB We also watched Remember the Titans a few weeks ago ... what did you think of that? Amazing or what?
