This past November I cut my by falling onto a peice of metal. I had to get 13 stitches. I also got a tentnus shot. It seem to heal just fine but now it is itching really badly and has a dark pink color to it. Sometimes there is mild pain.

Well the itching is a sign of healing dark pink normal, but pain is highly subjective. You might still have metal in there trying to work its way out. Sign of infection are redness, warmth, swelling, and foul yellow or green drainage, but I am no doctor so if you worried I would have it checked out just to be safe.

I have a scar that is doing the same thing. At first it probably didn't hurt because it was healing from it being open. Now it hurts because the scar is forming. It will be itchy because there is a lot of activity below the skin going on. Your skin is beginning to regain circulation and to heal. To stop the itching you can put hydrocortizone cream on the scar. A cut goes from red to dark red right before it turns a white color like most scars.

You could be developing a keloid scar. They can be painful. You can follow up with a plastic surgeon and ask him/her to inject Kenalog into the scar to help with the keloid, IF that is the issue.

You are probably forming a keloid (hypertrophic scar). A dermatologist can help-some creams are available.
