ok so its this family that all dies somehow but only the baby lives. Its, like a 1yr old or maybe 2...but the movie is about how for the next couple of years the baby figures out for itself how to stay alive and then finally when someone does find the dead parents they take the baby to a foster home but it's, like 4 or 5 by then& it shows how they cant handle their new life or how they come to be able to over time. What do you think of this as a movie or story plot? Please no rude or pointless answers either. Thanks so much.

Can I ask how you get a child of 12 months - 24 months to act as though its looking after itself? Would a child that age know what to eat or what would poison it - even if there was an orchard or vegetable plot in the family garden?
There was supposed to be a true story of a baby that was brought up by either wolves or a pack of wild dogs.... maybe you could improvise on that. However I think its a bit too far fetched to be worthwhile - but good luck with it.....

It might be an easier idea to master if you added an element of fantasy or surrealism in it. The story could go the route of something like, I don't know, a modern fairytale. Take Christina Ricci's upcoming movie where she's got the face of a pig. You could keep it with modern times and all, but make it believe in the world you set up. In the real world, that baby would undoubtedly die if left uncared for, so you'd have to give us a reason how it could take care of itself. Maybe it's a curse, or he/she was given a gift (like Harry Potter). Something like that. You don't have to make it absurd and set it in an alternate world or anything, but that's one way to add some depth?

Try talking the plot outloud to yourself and then a friend. Ask yourself questions or have your friend ask questions. Do research. Anything is possible with the right angle and the right amount of creativity and imagination. A story is only as good as the author allows it to be. Take risks. Fantasize. You'll come up with something that's great and works.

Edit:
Those people who say the idea isn't original don't realize there are no original ideas. It's what you do with them that make them stand out. If this is the vision you have, then spend some time putting research into it, watch other films like it for inspiration, and work hard to differentiate it. Don't let jerks tell you that it's impossible--they're wrong.

IF you raised the age from 1-2 to maybe 5 that would be a lot more realistic. The rest of the plot sounds like it would pass. :-)

It's impossible for a baby to take care of itself for 3 or 4 years. I like where your going, but it's rough around the edges. Keep thinking of things to add and things to change.

Sounds a litle like Jungle Book and Tarzan. You can't film it because of the limited time you have with child actors let alone infants on the set. It doesn't seem to go anywhere and it doesn't seem to have a target audience. To be honest it is vague.

i think this a good idea you just need to work on the plot a little, but otherwise it is a great movie idea!
