Sims Pets question?

On Sims 2: Pets, how do you get things, like birds, hamsters, etc...., not just cats and dogs?
I called Services- Pet Adoption, but they only have large dogs, small dogs, and cats.

Hi, the hamsters in Sims 2 are known as 'womrats' & if you want one then you have to buy a cage (you find the cages in buy mode).

You can also get a parrot by buying a cage - there are five different types. Just don't forget to feed 'em. :)

u can get a hamster by looking were u buy your stuff.and u can only get cats,dogs.and hamsters
