No. We got along without nicely for over 100 years. Of course there was no graft then.
And to the answers above, roads could be paid out of gasoline taxes (if they weren't stolen by politicians for other purposes) and fees could be charged for services (fire department etc)
Oh how the young have been brainwashed by the powers that be.

Do you like to drive? On a road? Do you like that road to not have potholes in it? Would you like to have an ambulance take you to the hospital if you were injured regardless of if you were rich enough to pay for a giant ER bill? Would you like a police officer to prevent someone bigger and stronger from robbing you?
If you answered yes to any of the above questions, then Taxes are necessary.

contained in the area of sane communicate, each one can agree that the theoretical concept of "taxation" is significant. How a lot to carry jointly, who from, and what to spend it on are the arguable factors. One camp believes that taxes could be accrued and spent on products which have a commonly happening income, and /or are too impractical for the guy to finish., like roads, nationwide protection, large infrastructure initiatives. they have self belief that those circuitously income the persons ability to habit their on a daily basis affairs, and thereby income society as an finished. (very few persons can manage to pay for to construct an interstate.) yet another camp sees their sequence as a fashion to grant those with own products and facilities, paid for by technique of others who themselves purchase on their lonesome, for causes of "Social fairness". contained in the first scenario it truly is win-win, as you're making an investment in some more suitable entity (if managed properly) which will income you and others jointly. contained in the 2d, there is organic push again, because the monies are genuinely "confiscated" to benefit yet another human being on the rate of your self. regardless of the truth that both "socialize", the first nonetheless resembles some income for all, the 2d is forcible redistribution for the arrival of "fairness." you ought to nonetheless get roads and bridges with it, besides the undeniable fact that the allegiance of the mentality is redistribution, so also PAY for issues for others that you already purchase for your self, if you're seen to have the "ability". (you're literally not getting to make the determination in case you do have the "ability" or to be charitable , and to who).

No, silly, in this case"evil" is a euphamism for something that we don't desire but accept.
Taxes are not evil if you like to have paved roads, fire departments and other things like that.

I don't consider them evil. I consider them inaccurate. We are being over taxed for billions of dollars that go to special interests. Its just the way it is.

If we did not have taxes, how would we pay for the support of our government? Money to pay ths troops and the President has to come from somewhere.
Our ancestors agreed to an amendment to the Constitution to allow the US government to collect taxes...legally.
