Try reading the first book of the Xanth series by Piers Anthony.
I am almost done with that series. And there are about 33 books in that series and more coming out soon. It took me about a week to read the first 20 books. He even has a website of his own. Go to hipiers.com to see it. Contact me anytime to find out more.

If you like romance and adventure please, please, please read Terry Goodkind's Sword of Truth Series. His book Phantom recently came out and I think it's book 10, but you really need to start from the begining with Wizard's First Rule. Yeah it's fantasy, ( did not even like fantasy novels before I read this series) but written like you're there wathcing everything happen; written like this world actually exsists. It's a beautiful romance filled with constant action, fabulous world building and spectacular battles. Check out terrygoodkind.com

You might check out Sherrilyn Kenyon's Dark Hunter series. Dark Hunters have no souls and are immortal - their job is to protect humans from Daimons (vampires) and other creatures.
Each book is about one of the hunters and his/her adventure, which, yes, includes love. I've read three and really enjoyed them.

You should try Nora Roberts - The Key Trilogy (key of light, key of valor, key of knowledge). They are a good mix of romance and adventure.
