If you are not able to walk?I had to call ambulance yesturday for my son. After paying cash for the emergency visit $790.00 I was left with $10 at 4am in the morning, nobody to call and no way to get home.My son wasn't able to walk and is too heavy for me to carry home. After begging the security for over an hour he finally let me take one of the wheelchairs home(I took it back today) but we still had to walk 40 min. in freezing cold.Is it unreazonable for me that I got upset that the nurses/doctors didn't even bother to try to help me

It has to do with liability and insurance. If people weren't so sue happy the world would be a better place. It's not that they are trying to be mean, they just want to keep thier jobs. If they helped you they could have been terminated. Loaning you the wheelchair was a very generous thing, whoever loaned it to you could be fired for that...it's considered grand theft, because the value is over 1,000. for that simple wheelchair. I'm sorry for your traumatic experience, I hope your son is better.

Sorry. It is not the responsibility of the hospital to provide transportation. It was alot that the security personnel allowed you to utilize the wheelchair, please return it as soon as possible.

I am very sorry for the major frustration and headaches you've gone through, for that I can only imagine. Take a few naps, you've had a long night/day.

No, the hospital is not responsible for your transportation.
To your second question, it is not the responsibility of doctors or nurses as pertains your transportation.

sorry for your luck. but no. it is not there responsibility to get you home. money for cab or not. no one to take you home. it is strickly you job to get yourself home. i know it sounds unfair. but they have jobs to do. they have to treat patients . register them. they have one responsibility and that is to make sure you get the treatment you need. SORRY.
