The Pro version basically removes restrictions that are placed in the free version that limit the number of hosts and maximum download speeds. Using Pro does not make downloading copyrighted material any more legal, only faster. Ironically, LimeWire is an open source initiative that incites you to pay for an 'upgraded' package that is still available open source. Open Source basically means that the code is freely available and LimeWire only packages it and sells it to you. The good news is that you can download the "Pro" compilation for free as well, if you go to the right place.

That being said, there are a variety of "right places" that host the Pro version. Here's one:

A direct download seems to be here:
http://www.info.com.ph/~cyberray/LimeWireWin.zip
(the password to unzip is www . limewirepro . net . tc )

Just remove the spaces before and after the periods. I can't speak for that file as I have a Mac, and you should ALWAYS use anti-virus programs when using p2p services.

It means you'll be out of pocket for no reason.

Limewire is a P2P network........ you search other people's shared folders for whatever you're searching for.
Whether you pay or not you can only search as many folders of however many people are online. The only difference is there are no ads - it's still illegal and you'll have no more folders to search in than you normally would. Personally i'd get rid of it - it's only about 70p a song from iTunes or somwhere anyway.

If you really want Limewire Pro - search for it on normal Limewire and I'm sure you'll find it and can then download it for free.

"Recyclying on the net" ??!?!?!?! Are you a complete idiot?!

No, except there are faster downloads. There's no point. You just hafta wait a minute or two longer if u have Limewire basic.

apparently so, i paid for 'pro' and you get a few more hosts and sources etc but to be honest with you there was not much difference.

limewire is virus and spyware free, no point paying 70p a tune. Especially if you download about 1000 tunes a month. dont consider it illegal consider it as recyling on the net....

You should just download Pro right from basic.

It is a scam and illegal. It can also get viruses in your computer.
