thanks soooooo much!(STARTS HERE!) The Yao Ming conflict brings up the important debate over two very different cultural beleifs. Spending several years in the United Sates, after living in China his entire life, made Ming learn and embrace a new culture. He realized that he admired many aspects of American culture, and he could adopt some of them without completely changing his previous one. Chinese society rotates around the belief that harmony between a group or family is far more important than the an individuals right to express whatever he/she is feeling. Therefore, Chinese critics thought of his critisism of the other players as a disgrace, and dishonor to China. In the Unites States, however, citizens are allowed, and in some cases encouraged to speak his/her mind.

The Yao Ming conflict brought up the very important debate over extremely different cultural beliefs. After living his whole life in China, Ming learned to accept a new culture after he moved and spent several years in the United States. He realized that he admired many aspects of the American culture, and he could adopt some of those without completely changing from his orginal heritage.
A large part of Chinese culture centers around the belief that harmony between a group or family is far more important than the individuals right to express what he or she is feeling. Therefore, when Ming critized the other Chinese players it was thought of as a disgrace and that it brought dishonor to China. If he had been in the United States still, that would not have happened since people are allowed, and even encouraged, to speak their minds.
