No. Its not like they are hurting anybody.. they just love each other and want to be married.. so let them get married. As far as the government end of it goes, marriage is just a combination of assets and debt. If you want to get religion involved, some religions think its wrong... but that has nothing to do with the government. We love being American because we can have certain freedoms to do what we want to, religious practices, sexual orientation, etc. (with in reason).

Is there some homework assignment about gay marriage today?

Quote this, " George Bush should worry about stopping the growth of AlQuaida, the Taliban, The War he started with a lie,
the weakening of the economy, The growth of the deficit, the
exodus of production jobs to China and Mexico and illegal immigration."

Gay marriage is WAY down on the list.

I don't know if it's his place. I am on the fence with this issue. I am from a 50/50 hetero/homo batch of siblings. I've 2 sisters and a brother who are gay and 2 other sisters and I are hetero married with children.

I believe in God and that gay and lesbian relations were not His intention. We all live in Massachusetts. I don't make a habit of talking politics with my siblings.

Perhaps if he were a dictator. Bush can propose a law, but he has no authouity to dictate a law.
Even if he suggests a law, there is no assurance that it will go through.
Personally, marriage is one man and one woman. Whatever else some suggest is okay with me, but it's disgusting, and it's not marriage.

Morally, many think so, legally, is a big debate.

I personally think is not up to us to decide whom each person marries. If he or she is happy with someone of the same sex, why would you stop them from being happy and try to be together?

Bush or whoever is not up to the government to tell you who you love. Maybe for the Nazis, but not for us, aren’t we a free country?

To Kai-Kai answer: I think is very childish to say that all gay and lesbians are not going to “heaven”. I can assure you that there are many gays and lesbian that are a million time better man or woman than you, me, any many here. You have no right to claim that, and even less “to save them from themselves”. That is the most stupid thing I have heard today here in Yahoo answers.

In fact, f you analyze many religions, there are no rules whatsoever about who you can love. Nor about who to have sex with.

We humans are very stupid most of the times when it comes to this issues. They haven’t done anything bad to you, why do you care then? Let them live their life.

And in case anybody wonders, no, I’m not gay, I am very straight, married, love my Wife with all my heart and would die for her, and I want to have sex with her 24/7. And if I could I would have sex with many more women (used to until got married).

Still, I don’t complain about gay or lesbians, nor about bisexuals as probably nobody even though about it.

Leave them alone, is none of your business.

It should not be the perogative of government to dictate morality to consenting adults. How can you claim you live in the land of the free while you point the finger at homosexuals and tell them how they should live their lives differently?

Not everyone needs to have a woman's bullshit to enjoy their life. Nor does everyong need a man's bullshit. Live and let live.

No. I believe in equal rights. I always ask people against gay marriage how they would like it if they couldn't get married because someone disagrees with you? You don't have to agree, but why try to stop them? It doesn't affect you personally.

It's really not up to Bush. Frankly, it's not an issue that anyone should judge. Marriage should be between two people that love each other. Gender should not make any difference.

No, it's none of his business. Why should he stick his nose in anyone's private business?
It's been my experience that people who are homophobic generally are a little insecure in their own sexuality (Note how many thumbs down this gets!).
