I use v2.80 myself (homebrewed of course), the best place to get your questions answered is qj.net and afterdawn.com. any place is okay to download them, but you can only use emulators, cant play downloaded psp games on your psp. And you don't need 1.5 or a custom version.

In order to play iso, your PSP need to be able to run homebrew programs. Only version 1.50 or custom firmware (such as 3.03 OE-c) can run homebrews.

Therefore, you need to downgrade your PSP to version 1.50 first before you getting other programs.

However, downgrading is very risky and can make your PSP totally unusable.

If you still want to do it. The link below has all the information you need.

The requirements for iso to function is devhook.
Devhook can run from FW1.50 to FW2.71 so you are in luck.
