......through the 4-yr schooling, what advice can you give me that you wish someone had given you? (P.S. Only serious answers, please!)

I can tell you that the only difference in BS and AS for Nursing is responsibility in some places and pay sometimes. I worked for a company that a BS made 1 dollar more an hour that I did, she had no more responsibility than I did. The BS programs ususally offer more text book learning, AS is more clinical time. If you look at your State Board of Nursing, check which programs have a higher pass rate for State Boards. In my state, Associates degrees have a higher pass rate. If you cannot pass the state board it does not matter if you have a BS or AS.
