From the minuite I got my HP 2570 series (all in one) I have had constant problems with the printer not recognizing the yellow. I sent it out for repair, they said they couldn't duplicate the problem, I've been doing this for a year now. after a cleaning I can sometimes get the yellow going, but as soon as I don't use the printer long enough for the ink to dry, yellow is gone again, I have gone through a lot of paper and cartridges (trying new ones)
Amy ideas?

First, make sure you are using origingal HP cartridges. Refills are a very bad idea. They have been shown to cause trouble 33 times as often as original HP supplies.

If that's not it, try uninstalling and reinstalling your printer software.

I used to have the HP 2575 and I never had any problems with it. I sold it to some friends who needed a printer so that I could buy the HP C5180.

That odd, we have one of the hp all in one printers and haven't had that kind of problem. I would perhaps take it into some place like Geek Squad, at least there you'll be in person with someone and can talk to them face to face.

Otherwise I would double check and make sure you are buying the right ink cartage's that is for that printer.

This may not be a solution, but a thought occurred to me. When you shut down your system, do you use a master switch? If so, it's possible that the printer isn't shutting down normally where the heads and cartridges are aligned to a proper shut-down location. Prior to shutting down, use the printer's own on/off switch to turn the printer off. That keeps the cartridges and heads from drying out. Good luck.

before you left the printer for a long time...you must check the head of the printer fully seated at where it should be...and check at the yellow connector and must properly install..
