I would say this is a pretty dangerous generalization .... I am sure this girl has not met EVERYONE in the UK so she can't really honestly believe that. I am sure there are plenty of very nice people that aren't racist in the UK.... perhaps she was just unfortunate enough to meet some not very nice people there.
Anywhere you go there will be ignorant people that are racist... the key is to not encourage their irrational thoughts (by laughing at racist jokes etc).
Be kind to everyone..... treat others the way you would want to be treated.

Everyone is a little racist. Even you. You're grouping all UK people as racist, and you think you're not? It isn't fair of you to think all of them are. It's like saying all white people are racist. That isn't true. Sure, there are some who ARE racist, but there are some that aren't. I think you should just talk to people there and make friends first, then judge them yourself.

your always gonna run into racist people anywhere you go in the world. maybe it was just because she had a bad experience. There might be some but you can always find people who are not

Well, I live there and there are some racist people (like everywhere), but most are OK. It's not that bad!

You will find Racists everywhere !!!!! Not just in the UK.
Use your own judgment and don't take someones word for it.

there are racists everywhere.. that doesn't mean everyone is tho!!!
also I've been to London many times and it's one of the most multi-cultural cities I've seen. you'll be fine!
