How would I hide scrollbars on a div tag?

I have a div tag with an inner div tag. When the contents of the inner div tag overflow the outer div tag, I don't want the scrollbars to appear.

It is *impossible* to do reliably since you can't predict how small or large the viewer of your page will have her/his browser window set.
