If you're looking for something different, try knitting or jewelry making. If you'd like to try making jewelry, use Google to find Preston Reuther's website. He has a lot of good ideas and explains them well. Your wife might even appreciate the handmade jewelry. This site does a lot more with working with wire than with just stringing beads.

Knitting is also a useful hobby. So is model building. Jigsaw puzzles can be fun, if you have that kind of brain that enjoys things like that.

Photography is a hobby many men enjoy. Most guys enjoy working with wood or metal, too. Making improvements around your home -- or others' homes, of course -- would be a very useful hobby to take up.

Have fun and don't expect to be a master at anything after the first hour. Any hobby you really can master in an hour probably isn't challenging enough to hold your interest much longer than an hour, anyway.

Wow, you have lots of suggestions there. Learn something new maybe? Step outside the box. Guys can do other things than "MAN" things you know, and they do and they are very good at them. Men are also imaginative, creative, artistic, etc... Go to a Hobby store, like Hobby Lobby or Michaels, or Jo-Ann Fabrics, walk around and see if anything appeals to you. Look at the magazines. Try quilting... yes there are lots of men who quilt...and design quilts, they do beautiful and unusual things. Some have been architects and engineers. Do you like the computer? Learn to design and digitize embroidery designs. Men do some Great Work! Go to Ann the Gran and look at her designs... lots of guys' work is there. I have used some fish designs that a guy did and they are fantastic! You can digitize photographs for embroidery. With all of the embroidery machines now available there is a demand for designs. I think a creative hobby is very satisfying no matter what it is or who you are. If you can find something your wife can be interested in as well maybe she won't be telling you to "find a hobby" any more? Maybe cooking? I'd love my husband to have a cooking hobby. What does she like to do? If you can't like what she likes, then do something that will make you feel good about yourself. Try different things... it may take a while to find the right thing. Good Luck! Happy Hobbying.

What are your interests? There may be 'clubs' for certain hobbies.

For example: If you like trains, there are many model train clubs around. Men comprise most of the club members.
Likewise for hobbies like wood working. There are clubs or interest groups that attract members. Same for stamp collecting and coin collecting.

If you like sports- there may be some "intramural" groups for sports like softball, basketball, etc. You can find these out by going to a local health club or your city's health/exercise center.

If you like reading, there may be some male books clubs at your local public library.

It all depends on what you like. You may even find some on-line clubs for these hobby interests.

I'm 55 I don't know how creative or artistic you are but for me I've been a modeler for years all types scratch, plastic, R/C .
A year ago I got into Card Modeling ( papercraft ) , where you can print out your project from downloads, many free. They can be from scale aircraft, cars, boats to artistic pieces and figurines. What ever your interest and can be as easy or complicated as you desire. It is easy to get started, basic tools, a good Xacto knife, I use yellow wood glue and a fine brush to apply. I will leave you some sites to look at and make your own decision.

i hear you. 10 years in this country and i still don't have friends nor hobby. fishing or golfing: not much fun to do alone. Video games: boring after awhile plus not much fun for a mature family man.Drinking...etc: not good for a married man. We just have to try new things that don't cost much like watching movies, serf the net, chat with people over seas and learn a little about cultures. let me know if u ever find out anything better for guys like us. ty

I had your problem at that age. About the same time I started sea kayaking. I'll join whoever I meet at seaside or on harbor travels just for the day. Keeps me loose. Lakes are also good as are marshlands (if jet ski and guns can be avoided).
Read about kayaking first to see how it might fit your area.

If you like to get out and explore, you might try geocaching. It's a fun sport/game/puzzle/treasure hunt. All you need to begin is a GPS unit, (which can be bought as cheaply $80-90), and go out and find things. Your wife may enjoy doing it as well, as my husband and I are a team, and love going when we can. Check out the site www.geocaching.com to learn more about it.

Man, try everything they do on Mythbusters!
Make potato cannons and dry ice bombs!
Usually hobbies that are physically engaging are more fun, like frisbee and mountainbiking.
But you can also try non-physically challenging ones too like flying rc planes.
Or fly real airplanes.
Or dirtbiking.
Shooting any kind of gun.
Paintball.
Hope this helps!

Do you like cars? Are there any Antique/Hot Rod Car Shows in your area? Go to some car shows, walk around, talk to some people about their cars (they love it, my Dad owns a Hot Rod and a Antique car), at one car show you will definetly find out about more car shows you can go to.

Also if you have a GPS device, there is this game called Geocaching thats really fun, check out the website and it explains it all.

Reading is a great hobby but if you think its too boring.
You can try :
Drawing
Origami
Painting models such as airplanes, cars, etc...
There is also building Gundams, its kinda childish but its very entertaining.
Gundams are toys that come in alot of pieces and u put it together. They are like robot lookin toys. I like m though.
