Ok first put food on the floor while you sleep chances are your hamster is hungry and as had no food to eat. Second off if it does eat the food then you know he is in the house. Try to close off any doors that lead to another place or out of your house. Use a flashlight to make sure he isnt in a closet or some kind of cabinet. And last but not least CHECK DURING THE NIGHT to see if you hear a noise remeber hamsters are nocturnal and travel during the night. If you do find him put him on a BIG desk that is twice the size of his cage and put string around the opening of his cage incase he can open it up. Hope it helps Good luck finding your hamster

Hamsters are very good escape artists. They are known for being the cute and cuddly little critters that they are but with a talent no one really knows about. He can be anywhere. Once, my hamster escaped his cage, and we found him the next morning in the furnace! Turns out, he climbed out his cage, fell down the vent, walked a bit in the vent, hit a major hill, fell down, and made a loud BANG on the way down into the furnace. My mom heard him during the night. We ran downstairs the next morning, and listened for him. He was scratching the door of the furnace, and we did end up getting him out! Remember, hamsters are nocturnal, so you might not hear him until it gets dark. Once it does, be very quiet and try to listen for clues. It might work! If not...I am very sorry about your hamster.

You need to set a trap to catch him.
Equipment you need
1) Breakfast bowl or large bowl.
2) Lollypop stick or something to hold the bowl up.
3) Hamster Food or his favourite treat.
How To Trap Him
1) Place his favourite treat or food on the floor where he escaped.
2) Place your large bowl over the food in the room where he escaped.
3) Prop your large bowl up using the lollipop stick.
Now all you how to do is wait for him to knock the stick and then the bowl will drop on top of him, trapping him.
Trust these steps, i am a huge hamster lover and I use these steps each time mine escapes.

He will come back eventually. Close the doors and search room by room. Put food in the middle of the room or make a ramp to the bath tub and put food in it. OR: You need rodent food, a bucket, and a couple of bricks. The bucket can be any material as long as the rodent can't climb out of it. Stack the bricks to make steps to the rim of the bucket. Place a very small amount of food on the steps. Place a larger amount of food, with a carrot or peice of fruit in the bottom of the bucket. I also saw a mouse trap at Wal-Mart where the mice walk into a little tube to get food and it closes behind them, it DOESN'T hurt them. You may want to try that.
GOOD LUCK!

Hi
this has always worked for me in the past when I have needed to recapture an escapee.
Get a plastic bucket.....put about 3inches of wood shavings or bedding in the bottom and a handful of food.Next, prop the cage up against the bucket so hamster will use the bars as a ladder...climb up to the bucket for the grub...fall in and cant get out.
Whn you wake up he should be in the bucket fast asleep if not try again.
Good luck

Chances are your hamster will not be able to find any food to its liking around your house. Leave the cage door opena nd on the floor so that when he gets hungry he will just walk back in.
Look in all small spaces for your hamster.
Put a box on its side with some treats in it. when it goes searching for food (it will smell it) turn the box right side up and put him back in his cage.
good luck and i hope this helps!

It's a good bet your hamster is in the walls somewhere - they will share the same habitat as rats and mice. If you have a water bowl for a dog or cat down keep a eye on it. Hamsters will sometimes drink out of that and wind up in the bowl.
You can try to entice him out by putting his food where he can find it. But if he doesn't want to come out - he won't.

Shut all the doors in your house and search each room individually.
Then leave the cage door open.
Put a massive big box in the middle of the room & put it on its side, and put loads of food in it, so the hamster can get thruuu
If you still can't find him.. then prepare for bad news

Shut all doors and place a little food in each. Once the hamster has eaten some of it, you know where he is. Then place more food in that room near the cage and fingers crossed he will be curled up in his bed when you check in the monring.

Your hamster knows his cage as his home leave it on the floor at night with the doors open. Hopefully he will find his way back and in the morning be asleep in his familiar bed.
