Tennis players look at the balls they receive to check for worn spots or defects on the ball. Additionally, over the course of a match, the balls lose air pressure, and consequently lose their "bounce," which makes most shots more difficult to hit for them and their opponents.

A foot fault is crossing the back line before making contact with the ball on a serve.

I believe most tennis players look at the balls to find the least fuzzy ones. When you start to play with new tennis balls, they start to fluff up. The fluffier the ball the slower the serve. The least fuzz, the faster. A foot fault is when you actually step on or step over the line before you hit the serve. Meaning your foot either touches the court on or over the baseline.

Foot fault = when your foot steps on or goes over the line when you are serving.

As for them looking at the balls, they want a good ball. Balls generally go flat pretty quick which makes them bounce a lot less and it's pretty much no good.

There will be JUST A GAME NAMED TENNIS, and you will not see players to play for pleasure just some men that hit the ball and have some huge earnings. What a shame we can't appreciate the beauty of the game instead of the winning.

I look at the balls to find the newer ball to get a better bounce.

A foot fault is when you serve and your foot touches the baseline when you serve.

A foot fault is when your foot is over the baseline when you serve. I think they look at the balls out of habit.
