There are 2 things you might do. If you have puffy bags, put some Preparation H on it. If you have the means to get a prescription or know someone who has some, get some Premarin vaginal cream. The Preparation H is precisely developed to get rid of swelling and tenderness in a very "delicate" area. If you are using Premarin vaginal cream, it is almost pure estrogen, so it is absorbed quickly and hydrates the tender tissue under the eyes.
The way to use both is that, when taking a nap or a relaxing time off, put the cream on. Start with 10 - 15 mins. only, in order to verify that your eye area do not get irritated. Make sure you do not get the cream into the eyes. As you get used to the creams, you may add a little more time.
Personally, I prefer the Premarin, but when I run out of it, the Preparation H (not the generic stuff) does the work. I leave them on for about 15 mins., with a cool gel eye mask on. Very relaxing.
Both are the best kept secrets of ob/gyns.

There are many causes of dark circles, from age, heredity, allergies, cold or sinus infection, bone structure and glasses which are not so commonly known.

If you would like to apply home remedies to reduce dark circles, here are some of my suggestions:
Buy a box of regular, old fashioned unflavored gelatin (e.g. Knox) from grocery store. Take a small cup or bowl and put in 1 teaspoon of the gelatin mix. Add one tablespoon of boiling water & stir for a minute. Test it on your wrist to make sure it is not too hot. Then, using a cotton ball, pat it under your eyes as you would an eye cream or gel. Go lie down and listen to some music, or take a bath & let it stay on for at least 30 minutes. Then just rinse it off.Gelatin is very high in Vitamin K & Biotin. It will not remove your dark circles on the first application (but you will notice a difference), but if you do it daily for a week, and then 2-3 times a week for maintenance, you should notice a drastic reduction in dark circles.

Cucumber slices, cold spoons and tea bags are the most common home remedies. I've heard Hollywood make up artists say they use Preparation H cream. If none of the above appeals to you, go to a beauty supply store or Ulta store. The have products made especially for these problems.

I heard from someone that if you take a nap on a very fluffy and soft pillow it will go away, or just put the cream products that take them away.
