I was watching the movie The Butterfly Effect the other day. At one point in the movie, the main character is missing some limbs and is in a wheel chair. Two of his friends was pushing him down what looked like a college hallway. He falls out of the wheel chair, face first on the floor. The students around him start to laugh....
Would anybody seriously laugh at that? In real life? I mean, I know there are some jerks out there (obviously)...but hopefully the majority of people wouldn't laugh.

i have never seen the movie, but my gosh, i can NOT imagine someone that sick to laugh at something like that, if so, the world is in a sadder state then we think

First of all he doesn't fall out, he thrustes himself out of the chair on purpose.
Secondly I could name a few people who would laugh *they are jerks* but I wouldn't. I'd be the person down on the ground trying to help the guy.

I personally know a lot of people who would laugh at that. They are sick simple minded people who get a kick out of anything like that. They don't take the other persons feelings or well being into consideration. People can be cruel.

There are people who consider a horse kicking a man in the groin as funny, but I'll bet the guy on the receiving end isn't one of them.

i don't think so... unless they were in a college full of people who hated themselves so much that they could make fun of a chair-bound person
but i do think that in these people's own minds, the people with physical defects, that they do see the world laughing at them... even sorrow feels like a put down... so maybe it was a projection of how he felt...?....

No. I thought of that too, and asked my son and husband. Only people with no heart, would laugh.

wow thats pretty messed up.........im not really the type to laugh if a full able person falls down............but if you laugh at a person who falls out of a wheelchair youre seriously sick........

no way why would anyone laugh at that they would only do it cause they have insecurities of their own and they are rude
