Vitamins E, C, Zinc and selenium are very important to male fertility.

You need to eat a balanced, healthy and perferably organic diet. Try to avoid environmental toxins as much as possible including alcohol, cigarette smoke, x-rays, pesticides, etc.

For your wife, I highly recommend her charting her fertility signs. Her chart can tell her when she is fertile, when she is not, when se is ovulating, when to expect her next period, and when to suspect pregnancy. Her chart can also tell her if there are issues delaying conception or causing difficulty w/ carrying a pregnancy and if there are serious issues which need a doc's attention.

Some good sources for charting fertility signs: Fertilityfriend.com (free software as well as a pay-for version and on-line charting turorial); ovusoft.com (discussion boards for many fertility related issues, much info on fertility after the pill, and a very good software for purchase). banannas are the best and that is a proven fact...my friends bf tried it and in two weeks she was pregnant...he needs to eat like 6 a day

You'll have better luck with timing -- during the time when she ovulates (2 weeks before her period).
