Most likely because your work address is part of a company intranet which can only be accessed from a properly configured computer which allows entry. If the url starts with https:\\ that's the case, ... it's the s that get's ya.

You either have a "cache" issue or the site only exists through your work. Here are the differences:

1. Cache - Cache (pronounced "cash") is your browsers function of backing up sites that you've been to recently. If your computer at home has never been to, say www.nike.com, then the address "nike.com" won't automatically show up in the address bar. The best way to get sites into your cache at home is to email the address to yourself or simply write it down and then type it in when you get home.

2. Intranet / Network sites - Many companies host sites that they only want you to see while you're at work. These are called intranets, and unless they've setup remote access, you won't be able to see these types of sites at your home.

Do you have internet connection in home? I you do, probably the web address you type at work is an intranet, only accessible from there, security reasons obviously...
