My Mother had lunch at a local Italian restaurant yesterday. It hadn't been 2 hours and she felt awful. I won't get into the details. The restaurant is claiming that it couldn't have been their food. I am sure that some food poisoning can affect you faster then others. Of course we do not feel that it is salmonella or something similar but we are confident that there was something wrong with the food. Any info would be fantastic. I am going to drive over there tomorrow and talk to them about it and see if I can at least get her meal taken paid for.
Thank you so much,

I have had food poisoning twice. the first time it took about 6 hours for me to get sick. the 2nd time i got sick within an hour of eating. Call your local health dept and let them know and they can go and test the food at the restaurant.

I had food poisoning once(a lunch), and I started to feel "off" after a couple of hours. By that evening was throwing up everything but my feet! So yes, I believe that you can start to feel bad in a couple of hours. After all, it's all down there digesting, much as we hate to think about it.. Tell your mom I hope she feels better. The worst is usually over in about 12-24 hours. At least it was in my case. It's NO FUN!!

normally if food isnt cooked long enough your body will reject it in as little as one hour. If someone is lactose intolerant it can happen in a matter of minutes. If it was an allergic reaction it can take time to show any symptoms.

I would assume that the effects would be within a few minutes after eating.
