I love horror & Sci Fi. Sometimes I can do a romance or a mystery/thriller.
I also love History. Contemporary or otherwise.

If you like horror try "The Beast Within" by Edward Levy. I have never read anything else so disturbingly scary!

The Gunslinger by Stephen King.
Excellent if you like horror/sci-fi/old west/fantasy/awesome story.
It's the first book in a series of 7 (The Dark Tower Series). I highly recommended it; at least give it a try.

If you love history then I recommend The Book of Eleanor. I can't remember the author, but it's pretty good. It's set in 1100s France, about the heiress of Aquitaine, who also ended up becoming queen of France and later, the queen of England. Not to mention it also has plenty of intrigue and romance.

For a change from your norm, I recomend ONE OF A KIND by
Nolan Dalla and Peter Alson. A fascinating,cautionary tale about
the worlds greatest poker player, Stu,(The Kid),Unger.who died in Las Vegas a young and broken man,having won and lost 30
million dollars during his short life. A tragic story of a flawed genius. Just give it a try even if gambling aint your thing,its a human story of a tortured sole

I am reading The Full Cupboard of Life by Alexander McCall-Smith. he has written a few really good books.
they are all centered around this place in Botswana, Africa.
the characters are really interesting and funny-and the story lines are ok.

I love "The Things They Carried" by Tim O'Brien. And "All Quiet on the Western Front" is my favorite book of all time.
