Hey it only took 8 answers for the homophobe to turn up - I guess they showed more wit than most.

To be my grandfather for a day during the World War II where he was a solider just to see what it was like through his eyes.

I am not expecting it to smell of roses and be all nice but it'll be a interesting experience although maybe traumatic one as well.

I want to understand what it was like and how hard times were in those old days.

I would like to be one of The Beatles...well, I'd like to be Ringo actually because I don't like John and Paul. George is okay, but Ringo's way cooler. I'd kick John and Paul out of the band for taking the majority of the profit. Here George and I only get a small cut of it...

I'd be a BBC NEWS 24 reporter, and laugh at the stories, ramble and GO CRAZY live on air, then set off the fire alarm because I always wanted to see what would come on the screen if that happened.
Then giggle hysterically at the weather report.

I'm weird. Lol

This is going to sound so gay but...I'd be Elizabeth I of England. She was the most powerful woman of her day with the loyalty of a nation at her feet. She was a formidable politician, educated, talented, and she had a sense of humor. For that one day I'd inspect the guard and Troop of Horse, banquet and enjoy the day's entertainment, and perhaps send a traitor or two to the Tower. ;-)

Vlad the Impaler was a good answer. I'd like to be Lucky Luciano.

I'd like to have a day as my grandfather... just to know how it really felt at D-Day, and maybe help me appreciate better how brave he was for an insurance clerk, to take his gun and run up the beach.

I would be Maria Callas, the summer she fell in Love with Onassis. I would catch the rays, converse with Churchill, sing the odd song, look generally fabulolus and leave Onassis before the broke her heart.

(I'm sorry, but Jeanette's answer had me with a lump in my throat..)

I would be Shakira so I could shake her beautiful butt... errr my butt like she does. Be able to speak in as beautiful accent as she does and be adored by millions of people.
Then I would sit at home and admire my gorgeous new body - not my fat one!

Sigh........
