Universal health care would be considered a monopoly in America, and that is against the law. It would be one health insurance and have no competition whatsoever. In addition, universal health care may sound like it would solve the problem, but, it would actually worsen it. With free insurance, taxes would go up for everyone since everyone would be paying for it out of their paychecks. In addition to that, healthier people would have to be paying for the consequences for those who smoke, are obese, etc. Universal health care will also eliminate private practices and with the wage drop with that, many people will turn away from practicing medicine.
