You see ads everywhere now saying 'If youre with Virgin Media and not seeing Lost, Simpsons etc, then come to the only place that has them' (not an exact quote but you get the basic point).

I think its disgraceful and probably shows they delibrately priced Virgin Media out knowing that customers desperate for Sky 1 would have to come to Sky.

I will never go to Sky now, even though im mad as hell Virgin Media havent reduced my bill, considering im getting reduced service.

There's really no point us sitting here arguing over who's the worst here. Both parties have big bruised egos at the moment. That's what this is all about. And before you go painting Sky as the complete villain did knowone see Branson's interview on BBC news 24 this weekend? He was questioned about Virgin customers losing the Sky channels and he said that he didn't think they'd mind losing a few 'wallpaper' prgrammes. When confronted again with the fact that most satellite customers only got it for these kind of shows he tried to brush it away saying that Virgin had the rights to Lost as from September anyway - September!. He couldn't care less about the customers anymore than Sky. This is about disgruntled millionaires trying to win big against each other.
We are just their little paying pawns no matter who you choose.

Rupert Murdoch's empire has no regard for customer service.

They have been constructive in creating the paparazzi-dictated, celebrity-obsessed popular culture of today's Britain.

They'll tell you they only give what people want, but it didn't always used to be this way, and you can't tell me people actually said, "Yes! We want to see Britney in no-knicker flash scandal!" before this type of photo being taken and published was commonplace in the tabloid and popular media.

I think you've exactly the right attitude. Keep lobbying Virgin though for a reduced bill, as you rightly say you ARE getting a reduced service!

From what I can gather Sky were asking for an extra 3p a day per customer.Do you want me to do the maths for you. Just under a £1 a month.I'd have quite happily paid an extra pound a month to keep the channels.
Still never mind Mr Branson says he's looking after us by channeling the money he's saved investing in better programing .......er Virgin Central..need I say more

Yes I was angry that Virgin removed the Sky channels but I think i will stay with them! Sky are using nasty tactics!! If you notice the adverts offer a really competitive price for their package too - definately a deliberate attempt to steal customers. I don't know what plans Virgin have for their network in the future, but they must be good otherwise Sky wouldn't be trying to steal customers!!

Murdoch's are ruthless businessmen. Branson should have known what he was dealing with before getting in to it.

Why can't Branson just pay for some USA shows like Sky does anyway...... different ones. Sky doesn't make most of em shown on Sky 1.. they buy them. I'm sure there are loads of good shows in US which Sky haven't bought up.

Mr branson has stated in the national press that there will be no reduction in bill prices he said it would be better to use the money to make virgin media a better service .personally i thought ntl was bad enough but now the service is worse than ever

2 points.

Branson isn't whiter than white. He knows exactly how to milk this situation.

Much of Sky's output is made up of programmes made by Fox in the USA. Fox is owned by Murdoch's News International and so not available on the open market.

I certainly think its disgusting.

To be honest there's nothing worth watching on their channels anyway. Politically biased news on Sky News, third rate Americana and tabloid TV on Sky One, sports news you can easily get elsewhere on Sky Sports News.

Here is what I think Sky should do with their channels - they should roll them up, turn them sideways and stick them where the sun don't shine.

Not me. Business is all about providing the best service to make money. Sky does that. End of.
