at first they will swell back up again with milk to relieve the discomfort you might want to pump out a little just until its comffy. then eventually the milk will dry up and i noticed that mine droped a whole cup size with was really nice. but other than that they will go back to normal. the drying of the milk may take a few days. so you still might wasnt to consider feeding every other feedings from the breast then skip 3 and so on. until you are completly weaned from the breast

If you stop breast feeding yes your breast will get very painful. It will last a few days til you start to dry up. Do not apply heat to help them with pain because it will stimulate your breasts to produce . Be sure you have spoke to your doctor about this so you have formula available for your baby. ____________________________________ You would think that coming from some of these people that the only way to bond is through breast feeding. Which leads most everyone to think and believe that other than breast feeding those people, have nothing to do with their kids. 'Sorry to say that when you bottle feed a baby you are still holding them and rocking them at every feeding and in the middle of the night, you just get up and not be lazy by just lying in bed. You still play and teach. You still spend HOURS every day with your baby. As I did as a stay at home mom. Breastfeeding IS NOT the only way to bond with your baby. In addition, if the mother is not taking in proper nutrients then the baby isn't either. Formula ALWAYS has the right nutrients. If mom has a glass of wine or hot, spicy food then baby doesn't have the results of that. I have never seen a breastfeeding mom eating properly or watching her diet to provide the best for baby. They just assumed that regardless of what they ingested the stuff coming from their breasts was a magic potion. Sorry, not the case. I find it sickening and reprehensible that some women let their babies cry and go hungry because their breasts do not provide enough to satisfy a growing baby and theyare too selfish and stubborn to do the right thing and actually FEED their child.

After you stop you might have some mood swings. As with beggining of pregnancy your hormones are all over the place. Um, say good bye to the girls as you knew them. It will happen gradually and as much as I and others joke it won't be so bad. Especially since this is your first. You might feel a bit less full but you'll probably be like you are right now assuming you've been breastfeeding for a while and probably started weaning and solid foods anyway. I really didn't notice anything i couldn't live with until my 3rd.I was already small to begin with so it never was as issue with me or my husband. As with anything people differ. I don't have a single stretch mark after going from 120 to 160+ 3 times but lost my boobs. If you are thinking of more kids don't worry about anything until you have 'em, then of course surgery is an option. Just like the pregnancy and birth , it will be fine.

Your breasts will engorge, but just for a while, and then the milk will dry up. When they are painful, take a warm shower and you may need to express some milk out to relieve the pressure. Don't just stop breastfeeding, though, you need to wean your baby slowly. I went to just morning and night feedings, then just nighttime, then I stopped. It took about a week for the swelling to start to go down. Remember to drink lots of water during this time to help the process.

They will return to normal size for most people. For me, they stayed bigger. A friend of mine lost a cup size. And another friend leaked milk a year after she quit breastfeeding when she bent over and put pressure on her breasts. Strange thing, the human body.

If you slowly wean you child you will not get engorged. That's what I did starting at 11 months and was done by 13 months. Your breast will probably get a little smaller and sag a little, but it really depends on how big you were to begin with.

if you stop all at once, they'll get engorged like when your milk first came in. I stopped very gradually and didn't experience any discomfort, it took several weeks for the milk to totally stop but they didn't leak anymore. My breasts are also still a little bigger than they use to be.

They eventually stop producing milk and they will feel very empty for a while, eventually within a year they will refill with fat and feel more firm again, but not as firm as before you started.
