76 Trombones,'

ALBUM: The Music Man
ARTIST: Meredith Willson
Seventy six trombones led the big parade,
With a hundred and ten cornets close at hand.
They were followed by rows and rows,
Of the finest virtuosos,
The cream of every famous band.

Seventy six trombones caught the morning sun,
With a hundred and ten cornets right behind.
There were over a thousand reeds,
Springing up like weeds,
There were horns of every shape and size.

There were copper bottom timpani in horse platoons,
Thundering, thundering, all along the way.
Double bell euphoniums and big bassoons,
Each bassoon having its big fat say.

There were fifty mounted canons in the battery,
Thundering, thundering, louder than before.
Clarinets of every size,
And trumpets who'd improvise
A full octave higher than the score!

Seventy six trombones hit the counterpoint,
While a hundred and ten cornets blazed away.
To the rhythm of Harch! Harch! Harch!
All the kids began to march,
And they're marching still right today!

Seventy six trombones led the big parade,
when the order to march rang out loud and clear.
Starting off with a big bang bong on a Chinese gong,
by a big bang bonger at the rear.

Seventy six trombones hit the counter point,
while a hundred and ten cornets played the air.
Then I modestly took my place as the one and only bass,
and I oompahed up and down the square

Till There Was You,'
`from The Music Man, by Meredith Wilson
There were bells....on the hill,
but I never heard them ringing
No, I never heard them at all,
Till there was you.

There were birds....in the sky,
but I never saw them winging,
no, I never saw them at all
Till there was you.

And there was music,
and there were wonderful roses,
they tell me, in sweet fragrant
meadows of dawn and dew.

There was love, all around
but I never heard it singing,
no, I never heard it at all
Till there was you.

Then there was music and wonderful roses
they tell me, in sweet fragrant meadows
of dawn and dew

There was love all around
But I never heard it singing
No, I never heard it at all
Till there was you
Till there was you

"Gary, Indiana'

ALBUM: The Music Man
ARTIST: Meredith Willson
Gary, Indiana, Gary Indiana, Gary, Indiana,
Let me say it once again.
Gary, Indiana, Gary, Indiana, Gary, Indiana,
That's the town that "knew me when."

If you'd like to have a logical explanation
How I happened on this elegant syncopation,
I will say without a moment of hesitation
There is just one place
That can light my face.
Gary, Indiana,
Gary Indiana,

Not Louisiana, Paris, France, New York, or Rome,
but Gary, Indiana,
Gary, Indiana,
Gary Indiana,
My home sweet home.

If you'd like to have a logical explanation
How I happened on this elegant syncopation,
I will say without a moment of hesitation
There is just one place
That can light my face.
Gary, Indiana,
Gary Indiana,

Not Louisiana, Paris, France, New York, or Rome,
but Gary, Indiana,
Gary, Indiana,
Gary Indiana,
My home sweet home.

Good night, my someone.
Good night, my love.
Sleep tight, my someone.
Sleep tight, my love.

Our star is shining its brightest light,
For good night, my love, for good night.

Sweet dreams be yours, dear, if dreams there be --
Sweet dreams to carry you close to me.
I wish they may and I wish they might.
Now good night, my someone, good night.

"True love can be whispered from heart to heart,
When lovers are parted," they say.
But I must depend on a wish and a star
As long as my heart doesn't know who you are.

Sweet dreams be yours, dear, if dreams there be --
Sweet dreams to carry you close to me.

I wish they may and I wish they might.
Now good night, my someone, good night.

Good night! Good night!

Oh, how fun! My brother was the lead in "The Music Man" when he was about your age. Something to remember is to pick a song that you can really "get into", music is a lot of heart so it needs to be sung from the heart.

With that in mind, and given your information, I would suggest perhaps "Goodnight, My Someone" from "The Music Man"? Or, maybe a selection from a Christian-pop hit? "I Can Only Imagine" or any of Amy Grant's Christian music would be appropriate. There seems to be an influx of Christian pop out there, so I'm sure you'll be able to find something that suits your tastes.

Find something that you are comfortable with, that you enjoy singing and that "speaks" to you.

Break a leg!

I did a google search for music man soundtrack and listened to the samples ( torture for me but I wanted to help) and honestly I think

"till there was you" is your best bet. Especially if your a kid in in school do NOT do " marian the librarian". just a personal hunch.
peace!
