There are still around 200,recognised ,investigated and documented pyramids in Egypt.
Many of these Pyramids, each being built as an eternal resting place for their Pharaoh, have over millenia, succumbed to the ravages of time and man.Unfortunately many and are almost unrecognisable.
While others remain, firmly standing defiant, like those at the Giza Plateau.
They are known to Egyptologists as The Great Three, and have been long acknowledged as one of the seven wonders of the ancient world.
The Pyramids of Giza, were built for Pharaohs Khafre,Khufu and Menkare of the 4th Dynasty, Old Kingdom, have drawn countless visitors since the time of the Greek scholars.
Throughout history, The Pyramids of Giza, Saqqara and Dashur, have drawn the interest of many of the greatest minds,Royalty and the highborn.
They have even stood as an impassive but imposing backdrop for rock concerts and operas. As well as featured in many films and documentaries.
Still today as for throught recorded history, hundreds of thousands, from all corners of the world, flock to The Giza Plateau each year.
Most come,to stand and just gaze in awe at their sheer size, splendour and endurance.
The era of pyramid building began in the 3rd dynasty of The Old Kingdom, with the Pyramid of Pharaoh Djoser 2584-2565BC.
The final pyramid to be build in the acknowledged and recognised manner. Was that of Pepi112265-2219BC a Pharaoh of the 6th Dynasty of The Old Kingdom
The Big Three at Giza Plateau remain as superb examples of the unsurpassed construction technique, sheer size and volume that Pyramid building attained, by the Ancient Egyptians.

About 100 Pyramids, but not sure all of them still exist. To know where are they found you have to make a complete search.
