i moved to US 2 years ago from Canada. My parents still work in Toronto because they have to take care businees there .So i'm here by myself. I go to a pretty competitive public school whoever says is hard to get in. and right now i just moved out from my guardian's house because it's too far and she's not nice. I found a place which is very very close to my school and the room is simply BEAUTIFUL. I still want to continue my school and don't want to get my parents into trouble. Nbody in my school knows that i live by my own (even w/ my ex-guardian,she doens't take care of me) which is perfectly fine. So my guardian said she'll tell the school that our relationship is no longer existed. My question is ,Do i need to find another guardian? i have some relatives here ,but they don't live in my school district. Do I have to live with my guardian? Or i can just show the rental agreement and my guardian's documents to the school? cuz i'm only 15and half, i'll be sixteen in July.Am i legal

everything is true. idk why you said is bizarre.well only tell my which part sounds untrue?? I don't do part-time,my parents support me financially .And I am very independent and mature for my age. Even though, i still need adults to do things cuz nobody is gonna trust a 15-year-old girl. right? Iam going to stay in the states. I think some people has same situation as mine, students come to US for education. i mean, i don't know how can I tell the school district, i change the address but what about guardian? my mom is coming in April but it still takes time. if she's here, she can probably do it for me.. i have an idea, what about, i go to registration office and bring my new guardian with me,saying that we live together(but actually we're not) does that work?

I think it would be wise to consult with your parents.

To become legally emancipated in the US, you have to prove to a judge that you are self supporting, able to care for yourself, and have a good reason to ask for emancipation. I have heard of 14 and 15 year olds doing this but it is usually a young girl and she wants to get married because she is pregnant. The only other thing I can say is check into the laws where ever you are at now. Good luck, you sound like a good kid.

After reading this and thinking about this for a minute, it sounds like to me that this posting is from some sort of investigative effort by someone who works for the police.
Are you trying to lure someone in by telling people that "I'm 15 yeard old girl, whose parents support me from Canada, and I need a place to live. Ya' know, this is called entrapment. Your lucky that we cannot find out where this is being sent from. I don't believe this story anymore, and still you can't decide on you age 16 - 15.....innocent, hardworking girl whom I liveon my own, and need a place to call my own. Whoever the f uck you are, it's pathethic your trying to entrap people from Yahoo Questions

No. You cannot be emancipated at your age. Either make amends with your guardian or prepare to move back with your parents. There might be something that you're not telling us, because the whole situation sounds bizarre, but at your age, tough luck.
