a cold "sauce" especially in summer - and it's REALLY worth trying because it's so yummy...
made as follows :
- cut 8 fresh tomatoes in tiny squares (remove the meaty parts)
- chop 4 - 5 garlic cloves very, very fine
- chop LOTS of fresh basil leaves
put in a bowl, pour virgin olive oil over it and add sea salt (or salt of your preference) - mix well
leave it in the fridge and serve last minute
(I often add fresh chillis chopped fine over my own portion - without seeds of course)

Cat is very fond of the brand Five Brothers; their mushroom alfredo is almost as good as homemade. My Italian friend loves it, keeps telling me she thinks I made it fresh. Cat prefers Alfredo or the tomato kind that has chunks of veg in it.
