Most of my problems have their good sides too. Kind of like motherhood. A blessing and a curse. Not a mother, btw. You can check that as good thing #1. I think the good side of my disabilities is that I can use them to my advantage. I don't use them to get what I want. That makes me feel weak. But people in my situation have liberty to be different (mostly because we're "expected" to be different). I'm not so messed-up that I'm in a crazy home. That's one of my fears--to be trapped. Another thing I like/hate about myself is that my mind drifts off. I have serious ADD! But sometimes I get fantastic ideas! My musings are wild. Another good thing about being myself is that I look young. Recently, a man and woman confused me for being a teenager. I'm 29 years old, and I look like a teen. *does victory dance* I also like not being young, though. The emotions that plagued me, I could hardly (and at times, not at all) contain. And at my age, I realize that I was a child, even at 24. I was so stupid! But anyways, I'm glad not to be a young adult because I have a mind now. I'm glad not to be a teenager because I have self-esteem (and of course the lack of overwhelming emotions that came with it). I'm glad not to be a child, because when I was a child I lived with my (fearsome, abusive) mother. I'm not all that ecstatic about the way my life is going, but I know that my life is better now than it has ever been. And that goes to the next point: that I can be happy with what I've got, even though it's not a lot. People think "the grass is greener on the other side", but when they get there they are often disappointed. For me (as well as my sister), the grass was truly greener. I also don't want fame and power. Lucky me. As the small things go, I am glad to be evenly masculine and feminine, I am glad to be indie, I am glad that I enjoy video games to the point that it effects my life, and I am glad that the moon gives me energy. Something weird, I know. But it works for me! I'm also glad to have a BMI of 22.6. When I was with my now-ex, a year ago, it was at 25.5. Amazing, right? I'd lost almost 3 BMI. Startling for someone with my digestive condition.

I could be one of those people that says nothing but I am fortunate to be born healthy and to a family that loves me. I get to travel the world and work towards a degree that I love! Everyone wishes they could be someone else sometimes but I could be worst off.

Well, I'm recently retired, so I've got a LOT more free time for things like music, gardening, canoeing, etc.

Being you equals having YOUR sanity or insanity!
Being others—having their madnesses or sanities– it's hell!
