I'm assuming that you have a propane boiler, if there is no pilot position on the gas valve it probably has an intermittent ignition system, if it has an intermitten system, it may come on by itself, but in order to ensure that it does the gas line needs to be purged of air. Some intermitten systems have a hard lockout which means it will try to light the pilot 3 or four times and if it isn't sucessful the control locks out, in order to reset the control simply turn the power to the boiler for about 30 seconds and turn back on, this should reset the lockout.

Are there any instructions for lighting the boiler pilot anywhere. They are usually on a pull down flap or on the back of the white boiler cover. Let us know if it is a combi or freestanding boiler to give you more help.

most modern boilers do not have a pilot light running, they are electronic ignition,if this is same as yours it will come back on. otherwise there should be a black or red button that you have to push in and hold in for a few seconds(like the old fires where you have an ignitor) hope this helps?

Depends how old the boiler is. If it's a new combi one it might come back on itself, if a few years old you'll probably have to light it yourself. I'd play it safe and call a gas engineer in the morning, you don't wanna be messing with it if you're unsure, better to be safe than sorry!

As the other plumber states usually there are instructions on the front, does a panel drop down. Modern boilers have auto ignition so wait and see. If you gave the model ie Performa range, Gold range, Puma range could have helped......or visit www.potterton.co.uk, and submit a question.
