Would I benefit the most, or would my opponent benefit more?

I give:
Garrett Atkins
Carlos Guillen
Rich Hill
Tom Gordon

I get:
A-Rod
Adrian Beltre
Jhonny Peralta

I'm gonna disagree with popular opinion - Atkins should be very solid, Guillen could go either way (so keep him in mind to trade), Hill should mature, & Gordon is a closer again...

Coming your way would be A-Overrated-Rod, Belt-not, A guy who can't spell his first name, LillyPad (who is thrilled to be a Cub), and the Gimp...not so clear cut in my opinion...

this is not close, any time you can get a top 5 player for a pile of players do it. the extras you are getting back are pretty weak... probably cut all but beltre maybe. by stockpiling top talent you get a competitive advantage at a position while opening roster spots for hot waiver pickups during the year.
