I'm very proud of my little dwelling but find it increasingly difficult to keep tidy (albeit clean) .
Do I need a wife or a cleaner, or combined ?

You need cordless headphones and housework music - this is the time to play the shameful stuff you don't want to admit too - thats the only way I can cope

Hey Stuart as you can see from red's answer a wife is not going to fix the problem (nag nag nag)
your best bet is to buy clothes that are wrinkle free and don't need ironing and try not to make much mess during the week so you only need to hoover on the weekend,
You get a wife and she'll be sure to have a honeydo list you'll never have any free time then lol
just kidding girls settle down

No, You just need 1 alarm clock. This is how I get my thing´s done is like this. I pick one room set the clock for 15 min´s & see how much I can get done in that time, YES your saying 15 mins won´t get much done in that amount of time. You will be surprised just how much you can do. Let´s say the bedroom set the clock,GO all dirty clothes in a pile next to the door as with any other things that don´t belong, you will put them in there rightful places when you have finished, all clean close to the closet trouser´s, jackets, tie´s ,belts , shoes all in there places STOP Once the alarm has gone off and you think you would like to carry on then do so set the clock again ,Same with the ironing and hoovering and all the other things So why don´t you try for yourself

If you think all a wife is 4 is to do your housework, then I pitty her when you find one. Modern day men are capable of doing both and sharing the responsability of running a house.
Turn the music on when you hoover, get into the swing when hoovering. As 4 ironing, pass, I dont. I wash, tumble and put straight away, no ironing is needed then.

Are you looking for a wife or a mother? Try watching TV and clean your house during the commericials. You will get 2 surprises...#1: How clean you house is. And #2: How many *%@$# commercials we see everyday!

a cleaner is cheaper then a wife, and a wife is not guaranteed to clean or do a good job of it. Try getting your mum around maybe she will take pity on you, or contact Kim and Aggie

"a wife or a cleaner..."? Who says your wife would be the cleaner? Perhaps she'll work out of the home as well. Hire a housekeeper.

You could adopt the Quentin Crisp approach to housekeeping. Quentin Crisp was the 'Naked Civil Servant' in the John Hurt movie of the same name, a self-proclaimed 'effeminate homosexual ... one of the stately homos of England ...' and a great wit. His theory of housekeeping was that if you don't clean anything for five years it doesn't get any dirtier - unless you get fish on it.

It may cramp your style in other directions, but I offer it for your consideration.

Go out and meet someone really nice and after a few dates invite her back to yours for dinner.
Works a treat for my Brother, house is spotless and he can cook as well!
