In an NVQ the Knowledge Evidence is there so you know WHY you are doing WHAT you are doing.

In order to be deemed competent at the practical side of it you need to demonstrate that you have the knowledge behind it,

When you are in the theory class try and relate it to your actual work practise, it will sink in better if you can personalise it to you

Just put your mind to it - if you are motivated to be a hairdresser keep telling yourself that without the theory you won't succeed, that should motivate you.

I would have though that from the Health and Safety point of view, you would want to concentrate on what is being said - if you make a mistake with the hair dye because you don't understand the theory side with the chemicals you could end up getting into trouble.

On a practical note - condense stuff taught in class onto revision cards - look like postcards - buy them in Rymans or WHSmith. And highlight the essentials with a highlighter pen. Good luck.

Difficult, ask some of the others to give you a hand, perhaps by just asking you the questions to see if you have learnt the stuff. Also have a word with your tutor - s/he may have some ideas.

Good Luck
