where can i look to find empty restaurant locations?

i am trying to open a restaurant but i dont know where to look for empty spaces near my area? help!

Have you tried just taking a drive around to some strip style malls, and look in the window of vacant shops, there is usually a big sign attached somewhere to the glass window or doors with information on whom to contact, square footage, etc...
I would say you can't miss it, they're usually pretty good size signs.

By the way, it pays to shop around.
