For the interview to be successful, you have to be called back for a second interview or get the job. Correct?

1. Then be sure you are qualified for the job for which you are interviewing. Don't waste time taking interviews for jobs for which you are not qualified because it will show thru in the interview.

2. Only interview for jobs in which you are interested and that you would be excited to have. Your enthusiasm will shine thru in the interview and will help win your interview over.

3. Follow the "best practices for interviews" described in the other answers and take control of the interview. Ask questions to put them on the defensive.

1. Be honest... lying or embellishing the truth will only come back to haunt you.

2. Speak well... proper pronunciation and clarity of thought will set you apart from most.

3. Dress appropriately... you wouldn't walk into an office, applying for a management position, dressed in blue jeans and a t-shirt would you? Look professional and you'll be treated as one.

Tax the poor !!!
