My daughter is 6 months old and we have been swaddling her at naps and at night with those wraps. Recently she has been getting out of it and when she does she starts to cry and we have to rewrap her. This happens like 4 or 5 times a night. Anyone have any ideas on how to get her to sleep without it? I am so exhausted.

We're going through basically same thing with our 3 month old. I've started leaving her arms out and just wrapping her body during nap time to get her used to sleeping that way. Now at night when she gets her arms out she's usually okay.

Hi, I am a new mother of a 6 month old little girl also! I never usually read these or reply, but I couldn't help it. I know what having no sleep is like. To make a long story short, my baby was not sleeping throught the night either until I started a schedule from moms on call. when she was 3 months old. After 2 nights and since then she has consistently slept 12 housrs each night and naps throught out the day in addition. I have a much happier baby and she has a happier mom! I did not have the one on one consult with Laura, but did speak with her on the phone. I also ordered the 2nd book which you download online and is very cheap! www.momsoncall.com Good luck! Oh, She is past the swaddling point!)

I think she is too old for swaddling, you may just want to try other tricks. Some people put rice cereal in formula to make it thicker, making it settle in baby's tummy and making her full. (Check with Pediatrician first.) This will help her sleep better, give her a bath before bedtime, there are some baby soaps that help soothe, like lavender and chamomile by Johnson's and Johnson's. Try keeping her awake longer during the day so she sleeps at night. Crank up the heat in your house, a warm house makes baby comfy and sleepy! I know how you feel, my 5 month old is just now getting better. Hope that helps, good luck! Sleep when she sleeps!

Still swaddling? My sons four months and I think we quit that when he gew out of the recieving blankets...so like 6 weeks...

I feel your pain...my boy wakes up at least twice a night if not more...he's breast fed and hes a pork chop...so all he wants to do is eat.

You might try a sleep sack...that way she stays warm and snuggly but she's safe

she's too big for the one that you are putting her in. you will have to find her a larger one or wean her off them completely. she really should be off of them by now or the child is never going to be able to sleep by herself.
